  • BUILDING: As you can see, our Orphans currently reside in this mud hut with thatched roof. We have begun building a proper, comfortable Orphange for their Residence, on the land we just acquired. Our current number one focus is to raise building funds. For those of you led to help with this project, Joannas Kids greatly appreciates any donation you have to give. Thank you.
  • Pak-A-Potti 4000: Portable Toilet; If you can purchase one of these for us, we will greatly appreciate it. They are sold at SEARS and may be shipped directly to Africa at the following address: Mr. Samuel Equamo, 16 Kopa Rd, Town Center, Ndola(City), Zambia(Country), Africa. Please remember that we are going to pay as much as it cost to buy the item, at customs in Zambia, to retrieve it. Or call for our local shipping address. Thank you.
  • Minibus: Our Orphanage is located about 20 miles from the nearest Government Hospital, consisting of 80 beds. It would be a blessing for us to own our own Minibus to enable us to transport the Children back and forth, when they are sick. For now, we have to pay their way on crowded and dangerous mini buses, and before this, they had to walk 20 miles.
  • A Truck/Van: The Orphanage is located 248 miles from the capital city of Zambia, called Lusaka, it would be helpfull to acquire a truck or van, to transport the donated shipments from overseas.
  • WELL: We need to dig a well onsight. The cost is $6000.00 US.
  • ELECTRICITY: To bring electricity to the sight will cost $10,000.00.
  • Solar Panels: Since this area has no electricity, we hope to install our own Solar panels for that purpose.
  • CEMENT: Used to make concrete blocks for building is $10.00 a bag(50 Kilograms per bag averaging 30 large bricks)
  • Two 4 Wheel drive Vehicles that can carry a considerable amount of people. These modes of transportation would assist in making our Volunteers and manager mobile so that they can accomplish their tasks. Some of these tasks are finding street Kids and bringing them to the Orphanage; Reporting incidents to the police station which is also 20 miles away. Most of the roads are rugged terrain.
  • Office Equipment/ Computers.  These will help us communicate effectively and efficiently, seeing that the Orphanage is located in a remote area, and the main Offices are in the USA and the city of Ndola.(All Equipment must be able to operate with 240 volts of electricity, which is the standard for Zambia)
  • Non Perishable Foods: Both canned and dried.

Most of all, any tool or gadget that would be helpful in a village will be appreciated. The orphanage is in a location which is about 20 miles away from Electricity and a Hospital. We hope to install electricity as we raise more money to cover such expenses. We also hope to dig two wells, because there is no running water. All gifts are tax deductible. If you are compelled to donate any of the above, remember that it would be easier on us if all shipping expenses were also paid so we don't have to incur that cost, and the cost of storage here in America as the items sit idle. If you. However can not afford to pay for the shipping, we still appreciate the donation and we will figure out a way to get the item to Africa.

SURPLUS: Our surplus goes to assist Widows, Single mothers, The poor in general and other foundations; either with Education, Feeding or Small business Start-Up.

Thank You
